Lungs 3 of 3 The Diaphragm & Anahata Chakra

The Diaphragm, the large circular sheet of muscle at the base of our lungs, moves from the 3rd Chakra, Manipure, known as “belly of the beast” in some traditions, its where we feel things personally our gut sense of things. The diaphragm also moves up into chakra 4, Anahata where we start to feel a transpersonal sense of we. An empathetic resonance with everyone and all beings.
It is the regulator of respiration and pranic energy, chi, our life-force.
We transition from “I”, “Me” to a loosening of our self-identity becoming less confined and more inclusive.
The full movement of the diaphragm from belly to heart allows transition from small “me” mind to what Zen masters call BIG MIND.
